CHARLOTTE, NC — Amazon is set to expand its presence in the Charlotte metro by opening two new delivery stations and a new fulfillment center, it announced Monday.

The facilities, which are projected to open by the end of 2021, will create hundreds of new jobs starting at $15 per hour, plus benefits, the company said.

The delivery stations will be located in north Charlotte at 9817 Old Statesville Road, and in southeast Charlotte at 4226 Beam Road According to the company, the delivery stations will create hundreds of full-time jobs focused on "last-mile delivery capabilities to speed up delivered for customers in Charlotte," Amazon said. The state currently has eight Amazon delivery centers.

The fulfillment center will be located south of Charlotte.

"The new fulfillment center, located in Pineville, will employ hundreds of employees who will work alongside innovative technologies to pick, pack and ship larger customer items such as mattresses, kayaks, grills and exercise equipment," Amazon said.
