Birmingham’s Shipt is joining forces with a tech boot camp to expand the city’s diverse tech talent pool.

The partnership with Pivot Technology School will call for sponsoring 30 students tuition free to participate in Pivot’s 20-week course.

Pivot Tech offers data analytics, software development and cyber security training in boot camp-style cohorts. {mprestriction ids="1,4,9"}Students will learn to build websites and, upon completion, will be eligible for jobs in data analytics and engineering at Shipt. In a statement, Shipt said it will lead with diversity when selecting candidates to participate in the program.

Applications are open to anyone, and candidates will include 15 internal Shipt applicants and 15 external applicants. Orientation will be held on August 4.
